The first of many chirstmas gatherings

This past weekend was the Cleland family Christmas. We didn't start out on such a good foot however. I picked Alex up from daycare on Tues expecting to get the house picked up laundry done, packing done and so on however, Alex changed the plans we got home and before we even made it in the house he threw up all over me, 3 times. I am just thankful it was outside and not inside! So we spent the rest of the night rocking in the chair, he wasn't in the mood to do anything. He went to bed early and Wednesday morning was back to his normal self, so I finished doing all the packing and what not and we headed to Iowa, excited to see the family. Wednesday was nice and relaxing and uneventful. Thursday started out well, but quickly went down hill, I then got what ever Alex had, and was sick all afternoon and night Thursday, started feeling better Friday late afternoon. Cameron also was not feeling very well Thursday and Friday. However Friday evening he managed to throw a few back with the family. ( and when I say a few I mean more like 15-18. Saturday was good everyone seemed to be in good spirits and feeling well. the annual cousin retreat out was a good time, good drinks and good company. Alex got all kids of cool toys, and all he really cared about to play with was the balls. I really hope he is more athletic than Cameron and I so he can put it to some use. Sunday was a rush to get home because Cameron was supposed to work last night, however on the way home Cameron was sick, not feeling well again, and ended up not going to work. However all in all it was a nice time, even with the illness.
I got a cool new orange I-pod nano! I am so excited! Cameron got some tools and money , I think anytime money is involved Cameron is happy! OK well that was this Christmas, now we have one down and five more to go! Ti's' the season!
Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope you have a safe and healthy holiday season.

where do they get these things?

I know kids pick things up from anywhere and everywhere, but this latest one Alex has picked up I can't figure out where he got it but it is so damn cute. SO he went to see my mom last night and was playing with my little sister and my mom, and was running from my mom and said "na-a-na-a boo boo" even used it in the teasing context! I didn't teach him this and neiter did Cameron, My mom claims she is not responsible, so maybe from daycare? I will ask today. It just makes me laugh. On top of that he has started just saying your name to get your attention and then nothing else, well last night my little sister Jamie (10) was the subject of this and Alex wondered around my moms saying "Jamie" constantly, and jamie had to ask my mom to try and get him to stop cause it was annoying her.. Awe the cute things he does! it is something new every day! I love it, I don't think he could be any cutier.

Tis the season.

Well we have officially started the holiday season! Yesterday was our first of many family christmas gatherings. But Cameron had to work so just Alex and I drove back to Osceola, for Cameron's moms side family chirstmas. It was very nice, lots of good food, and the kids had plenty of room to play, with out having to be under constant eye of the adults. Alex seemed to enjoy opening his presents, though I still am not so sure he has the whole jist of this christmas thing down. Alex is working on a new word his grandpa is teaching him, "super-cala-fraga-listic-exby-ala-DOSHIOUS" it is pretty cute becuase on the "cala" and "ala" he moves his tounge from side to side after saying it we are not sure way but it is pretty cute!

We will leave on Wednesday for Camerons Dad's christmas in Iowa we are going to leave wednesday and come back on sunday, so we will spend a week or so with the Cleland's in Iowa. It should be a good time! I always enjoy going back to his parents it is a nice retreat from work and life here. Luckly Alex does a great job traveling so we have been very lucky with that. After that is the week of christmas and we have plans wed/thru/fri/sat sigh the it continues for the week of newyears. Cameron always gets a little crabby this time of year, and I love this time of year, the business doesn't bother me a bit and infact I prefer it. Oh well so anyway that is all the excitment I have going on right now.

Change is around the corner!

Well officially Cameron bid to days! Can I hear a WHOOP WHOOP! (I know I am dork) I am so excited I can barely stand it! He will have Mon/Tues off, and be working 0630-1430. Some sort of normalise to life. The only problem with this is he doesn't know what his off duty schedule will be like, since he is working sat during the day now, and that was is permanent off duty so it will be changing, we are kinda hoping for him to get a new 8hr shift just because it is a good source of extra money. But if not then that just means more time with the family!

In my last blog I neglected to inform everyone about Alex and what marvels he is up to. Alex is almost 2 and I think he has begun the terrible twos early. Actually I really can't complain to much, yes he is at the age were he wants to tell you everything, but can't find all the right words to do it, then gets frustrated and will throw a fit. Beyond on the normal lack of 2 way comunication, he is an amazing kid! He is talking a ton, and repeating everything, even the inapproprate things. Sometimes after I hear him say something I am amazed at how clear it sounds for such a hard word, such as orniment, and medicine, or caculator, but then other words that are what I would think to be a little easier like glasses or grandpa (t-pa) pose more of a challenge for him. He speaks very clear, and so far we have not had the Truck = F word speach problem. However he really enjoys telling people he pooped. Cameron has taught him to shake is tail feathers, when alex does it it just involves him bending his knees to a squat and then moving his arms up and down, but it is pretty darn cute.

another big milesone for Alex is we have now made it seven months with out any major illness, knock on wood. Since we had his adnoids removed he has only had a couple colds which have not progressed into anything more than a cold. Score one for Alex! He is also began to have a love for reading books, I am so glad that he enjoys it so much. He is for the most part sleeping 10 plus hours at night with only a few wake ups cause he can't find his binki (which is going to be gone in a couple months) and he still takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. I take advantage of his nap time and nap then too. I don't get to spun up with the house work, I guess that is my downfall, I don't like it so I don't do it as often as I should, but in my defense I do live with Cameron. Ha!

Anyway, we are getting excited for the Holidays Alex help put the orniments on the tree and so far has not tried to touch them once they were on the tree. He is now saying claus, although I don't think he knows exactly what santa is yet. I have been having a internal delima as to whether or not to get his picture taken with santa. I just don't see the big deal with it. But I suppose he should have "the picture" in his book to look back on. Last chrismas I was a major bah-hum-bug didn't put up a tree and didn't even buy many gifts, so this year the tree went up early and the orniments are on! Cameron even agreed we need a bigger tree, so after x-mas this year when they go on sale we will be getting a new biger tree!
Ok well that is all for now

The start?

Well, I have tried blogs many times before but I will try yet again. It is difficult because I don't always know what to blog about, and it ends up sounding kinda silly. But Oh well! I will start I guess like Alex's favorite book, "In a People House" By Theo LeSieg. In the Cleland House, things are very busy, Cameron is finishing up this semester of school, I don't think it went as well as he had hoped. He learned that working 12 hrs shifts and taking 2 classes doesn't work so well. And this next semester I am going to take classes it is almost like a trade off, switching each semester. For now it is working, we are just on the 100 year degree plan. :) I am signing up monday for classes. I am also working on getting a Pilates certification, so I can be a pilates instructor. After that I am going to work towards getting a group fitness certificaton, while I prefer the teaching aspects of Pilates, I really do enjoy group fitness classes. I know that this won't be a full time job, but a good partime gig to get paid for and get my exercise in at the same time is always a good deal.

The LPD Bid is today so we will know what shift and days off Cameron will have come January, I really hope he can get off night shift so he can sleep like a normal human being agian, but we will see what happens. It won't matter much for me because I won't be able to bid for quite a while since we are short on dispatchers and we just hired two, they won't start till January and they won't be done training for about 12 weeks after that, unless they are speedy and get done with training early. none the less this next semester is going to be busy with me taking classes and starting to teach pilates, should prove to be a challange.

Thats all I have for now.
